White Paper
After a couple of. weeks drawing on newsprint I reverted back to white paper. No reason for that other than the fact that I have a big thick pad of white paper that’s just sitting there, taking up space. Now, instead of taking up space in a pad, it’s taking up space on top of a stack of drawings.
I’ve learned that charcoal doesn’t smear quite as easily as I thought it would — if I’m careful. That’s good, because I’ll never get all of these drawings sprayed with fixative unless I stop buying art supplies and only buy cases of spray fixative for the next several years. That’s a good reason to scan drawings and keep a digital copy — digital doesn’t smear.
