Strong Light

One interesting aspect of drawing on Zoom is that the lighting varies with each model’s home setup. The lighting during previous, in-person drawing sessions at Argos Studio/Gallery (pre-COVID) was always excellent and consistent from week to week. The online models have been doing a great job of providing good lighting and the variations of lighting influence my approach to drawing. I mean that as a good thing.

Last night’s model was bathed in extra strong light and shadow, and that’s how I tried to draw the poses. High praise to the models who often pose in discomfort under hot lights while the artists blissfully draw and chat with each other.
