Correcting Drawings

As I’ve said before when making excuses for awkward drawings, short poses don’t allow for a careful study of details and proportions. Every drawing has something inaccurate abut it but you can usually at least make it look reasonably human. In the event that something is too far off — for example the head may be too large or two small for the body — I use Photoshop to correct the drawing as much as possible. I don’t think of it as cheating. It’s a way to figure out what is wrong with the drawing and what drawing habits I need to break, such as always making a nose too long, or hands too small.
